MERAUDER Drummer Says New CD Is Not Titled 'Gangsta'

February 27, 2008

Drummer Walter "Monsta" Ryan (POSSESSED, MACHINE HEAD, SUBZERO) of the long-running New York-based metal/hardcore band MERAUDER has issued the following update:

"We've been in the studio for a while trying to write and record a new, great CD for you. We'd also like to thank everyone for their support and feedback; we appreciate it. We got word that we have a new pic and name of the CD out… Well, it's not true!!!! The pic of the gangsta and the name of the new CD is not 'Gangsta'… It's just one track off the CD and may change. When we are all finished with the music and the artwork, we will release it to you as soon as it's ready. We're working hard to make it real heavy for you. So again thanks for all of your support and we'll be seeing you on tour soon."

A new MERAUDER song, entitled "Until", is available for streaming on the group's MySpace page.

Former MERAUDER guitarist Sob (real name: Javier Carpio) passed away in April 2006 at the age of 33. A founding member of the acclaimed New York-based metal/hardcore act, Sob played on all three of the band's albums — 1996's "Master Killer", 1999's "5 Deadly Venoms" and 2003's "Bluetality" — which were released through the Century Media label.
